Have been granted plannng, very few conditions thank god but one was to have a natural slate roofing .

Have been told by builder that there are natural slate looking options available. Also went to a self build show recently and saw the natural looking slate options which are a fraction of thd actual natural slate ?

Has anyone opted for the cheaper option?
    Do planners actually check?
Am I mad to consider it

Have your architect clarify requirements with the local authority as s/he is the one who has to sign off planning compliance at the end of your build.
