I'm trying to find a small plot of land(1/10 to 1/2 acre) within an hours drive of Dublin city center(ideally west). Quality of land is not important - (scrub land, swamp, woodland, mountain etc) Its just for storage so if its secluded all the better. I have cash waiting but estate agents don't seem interested in helping me as i presume there commission would be so small and cant find anything on and classified sites. Any ideas? Was thinking of putting up a couple of adverts in rural shops but not sure that will yield much.

Storage of what? Would a lease not do you?

storage of some shopping containers or structure I would build to hold furniture. I don't really want to lease as it's for long term use and as I consider leasing to be dead money so Im looking to buy. Any help appreciated.

    What is your budget?

Depending on suitability, size, location etc but i'm happy to pay a fair market value, even a bit above for the right place. If you or someone you know has something to suit then i think the best thing would be to exchange details so we could meet up or at least have a phone conversation about the said land.

I just realised that it might sound like i'm looking for somewhere to hide guns or drugs or something, which I am of course not, the only reason I says '(scrub land, swamp, woodland, mountain etc)' is I figure if i was a farmer i wouldn't want to part with good quality land but if someone offered me good money for a small piece of land of no use to me then that would be different. And if its secluded then praying eyes wont see it.

Gotta admit the first thing I thought of was to hide dead boddies or grow weed :D

I'm just wondering if you've thought about planning permission. I'm not 100% sure if you even need it for storage containers but I presume you'll need a road in, security fence and lights, electricity connection, that typs of stuff.

Just something to be aware of, check before you blow a load of money on something you may not be able to use.

how about 10acres for close to 4mil...theres easy access
or 4acres for 100k limited access and you'd never get plannin permission

    Something like this?
Done Deal sometimes throws up little bits and pieces like this.

Or this, but it's nearer 90 minutes from the 'Blanch.

Cheapest habitable ex county council house on half an acre in this area went for, wait for it.... 10k, would that be in your budget? But we are more than an hour from Dublin. Keep looking, but look a bit further away near motorway exits would be my suggestion.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Have you looked into possible planning permission requirements? It could be construed as a commercial development, especially if locals complained.
