As for a number for sony, it might be easier to use the online support tool :)

Feck it...I downloaded Rocket League for €5 for my 9 year old. However, my CC details were saved and he made a load of in purchases....rang PS4 Network helpline and they weren't much help. They said "it happens" all the time...just said to remove the card details .......

Thats the problem with having your card details on an account a child has access to, they dont understand about paying for things etc and wouldnt know they are spending all your money. Sony wont refund if the items have been used in the game etc I think thats in their T&C's

Can you prove the child was not in the home near the PS4 at the times the stuff was purchased? If so I would get it to Sony because if they run the IP address it might not have been your PS4 that purchased the items.

Do you know what the money was spent on? As in, were they stuff he might have bought or been interested in as opposed to stuff for games he wouldn't play or doesn't have?

Cheers guys...Yep... it was mid term and I was in work, he was def at his childminder!! I purchased Rocket League for him, €5. Then he seems to have purchased a slew:eek: of in game things.....

In that case I would fight it with Sony, get the child minder to maybe write a letter confirming that the child was with them during those times and if you were in work maybe a print out of your clockins etc might just help sway them.

Only other thing I could think of would be if he purchased them through the app or the website, but if he's 9, probably unlikely. Then again, if they're items for Rocket League and he just got Rocket League, it doesn't seem likely there was a hack or anything.

    It's a strange one alright...

Thanks folks....yeah I argued with the customer service rep and he insisted that they come from our PS4. Will ask him to run the IP address because it def seems dodgy to me...:(

Penn, thanks...I purchased Rocket League for €5..some age appropriate game. Everytime he got a "high score"....he was asked if he wanted to continue to another level, that then cost money...hence I'm fleeced!!

Ouch. Should be a cap on those types of purchases. You have my sympathies. I've heard of cases where 10k+ was spent!

From having a read of things, it seems like Rocket League has a loot crate system, whereby every so often you get rewarded with crates with special items in them. However, you have to pay a fee to unlock the crate. It's say it's likely that's what's happened.

I have just got an email to say watch dogs 2 has been purchased without my knowledge. My 10yo was playing the PlayStation at the time, but he swears he didn't purchase it. I have since removed my PayPal account and changed my password in case its a hack. Will I be refunded for this if it turns out to be my 10yos fault, haven't downloaded the game or anything?

    No.

Right. And my other question is, if my account is hacked, will the account be closed down?

Was your son using your account at the time?
Same account can't be logged in on two consoles(I got logged out of my launch console when I logged into my pro).

If your son has his own sub-account, set it up so that he can't make any purchases.
If your son was logged in on his account, then it seems as though your account was compromised.

Do you have 2-step verification turned on?
    Do it now.

Set up your account so that you need to input a password to confirm purchases. I had to do this after I bought GTA V with my remote...:o

    EDIT:
Log into your account and check to see if there are any extra consoles associated to it.

I think you can as it's not been downloaded but not sure.

Yea we just have the one account and it was on at the time, been meaning to create a sub account for him. So basically there is no way the account could be hacked then. Must have been him, thanks for your help.

    In this instance, no hack.
Set up password for purchases and 2-step verification for logging in.

How do you check what consoles are associated with your account?
