What fault did they say was causing the eml to come on?

Funnily enough I heard a story a few days ago about that dealer and it was the exact opposite experience to what you had. Couldn't do enough for the customer when it went wrong.

It was a she. Are you aware of your consumer rights?

FWIW there are plenty dealers nearby who wouldn't have even attempted a repair and told you to get stuffed.

If he was a conman why would he repair faults without charge in a car he's already sold?

What was the "repair" though? Sounds a little like they are just turning off the engine light and hoping the OP will go away...

I have exactly the same story with them. Bought a car 2 weeks ago. "Check engine" light goes on every 100 miles. They "fixed" the car last week and on Monday again the car shown fault. I brought it back to the garage and have never heard anything from them since. No call, no interest,no info what so ever. I rang them today (Wednesday) and heard "oh I will call you back in 30min" and guessed what? NUTTIN! They never came back to me..

    Hi Everyone,
I bought a car off him to shorten the story he is a total crook i would not advise anyone to buy off him. I bought an expensive car off him and i noticed it got a little louder over the next week or so. I left the car with him 6 times in the next few weeks anyway after going back and forth to him like an idiot .i then just took the car to a main dealer also in limerick where they were amazed to see a lot of cowboy issues to the point where they simply advised me to bring the car back that they would simply not touch it. for a main dealer to say that and turn down my money it just shows you how bad it was . for privacy reasons i cant say anymore only this is still an ongoing issue.
