I am currently in the market for a 55' 4K TV. In particular I have been looking at the Sony KD55XD8599BU. Is there a slightly cheaper alternative without compromising too much on the spec. Any views ?

There is a couple of models you could look at below that one, but there would be a fair bit lower refresh rate. This would be most noticable if you were watching a lot of sport like football, with long panning shots, or a lot of action movies

One to look at is the LG 55UH770 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201928-55uh770v.aspx at ££1029/€1199
