Hi I'm moving soon and the new place has an empty cupboard with floor space 90cm X 90cm and 2.5 mtrs high with an external wall. I'm going to move the hot water cylinder approximately 6 mtrs to the cupboard to free up space for waredrobes and I'm wondering is it possible to also put a new combi gas burner into the space above the location of the new cylinder. Is there and regulations with this...I'll be useing the correct trades.

Will it be possible to just get rid of the tank hot water cylinder?

By tank do you mean the large tank in the attic or the tank for the heating?

    Hot water cylinder.

Sorry, don't know why I called it a tank.

Well I'll be replacing it with an insulated cylinder so technically I won't be getting rid of it just moving it to a different part of the room.

I mean, will it be possible to just run hot water straight from the combi boiler? Is there a need for hot water storage at all?

I'm not sure..not my area of experience. I'm just asking is it possible to have the hot water cylinder and the new gas boiler in the same enclosed space.

If you are fitting a Combi Gas Boiler, the idea is to eliminate the need for a Hot Water Cylinder and save space.
Although most likely you will still need to utilise the cold water storage tank in the attic and fit a pump on the line.

Yes, no problem whatsoever as long as the gas boiler installation conforms to current regulations.
