Saturday's racing left me cold, fancy the Sunday card much more!

Action kicks off in a short time from now in the QE2, and I fancy Marialite to repeats its exploits. Hot race but with proven form and a run under its belt, I reckon it can do what Snow Fairy did in this race about 5 years ago. Watched the videos of this and previous races, hoping if mine can get get a nice prominent position early, it'll have the turn of foot coming off the bend to win this.

2:50 Auteuil - James Reveley's been an absolute revelation in France this year, lobbing in winner after winner for the Macaire yard. He has the favourite tomorrow and will be looking for revenge over second favourite (Willie Mullins' horse, Footpad), but I am really struggling to see it beat a real heavy going specialist like Footpad.

2:30 Cheltenham - Anyone notice that Bloomfields (who were supposed to be calling it a day at the end of last season) have a runner out in this race tomorrow? This one showed a nice but last time out against a classy horse in Sceau Royal and reckon it might just have a little in hand for tomorrow.

A horse I've had on my radar since before the festival runs today in the 2.30 greatwood hurdle and is available at 33/1

    Cyrius moriviere
Seemingly 3rd choice of ben paulings horses, make no mistake this has been his target since before the summer, his jockey Maurice linehan has ridden him in the majority of his races and takes a valuable 3 pounds off an already light weight.
His comeback run over course and distance about a month ago was dissapointing on the face of it, but I took encouragement from how he jumped and travelled, he absolutely tanked through the race racing prominent as he so often does maybe a little too fresh at the same time, the run was clearly used as a prep run as he found nothing off the bridle when they where turning for home having travelled the best, he was also giving away significant weight in that race to his rivals at least 8 pounds and nearly 2 stone to the winner cliffs of Dover who went on to win his next race.
Today however he will be carrying 10 stone 5 pounds as oppose to the 11-09 of his previous run.
On his final start last season he beat a horse called moabit 19 lengths in a Doncaster handicap giving him a stone in weight.
It's a big step up on his previous handicaps but he raced in the grade 1 novice hurdle at sandown last year, although pulled up in that race it was bottomless ground and he gave a bold show for much of it, but that's not his ground, the winner and 2nd of that race was yorkhill and 00seven.
He was also previously a distant 2nd in a maiden hurdle behind 00 seven, who is a top class horse.

I expect him to be ridden with sternrubin at the front of the field and I wouldn't be surprised if he was the overall front runner, if this happens I can't see him out of the places.

Not sure if he'll go on the ground, all his winning or decent form is on a sounder surface

Ground is soft, good to soft in places, it's not that bad of ground.
He was pulled up on heavy ground in grade 1 at sandown and pulled up on first run over hurdles on soft over 2 miles 6f- 9 horses of 15 where pulled up that day suggesting a gruelling race but he tracked leaders to 2 out and weakened which suggests his stamina ran out over that distance.
Both runs can be forgiven and the ground at cheltenham is definetly not heavy.
There's no excuses on that ground it's proper jumping ground

I think FUTURAMIC 2.20 navan could outrun his odds today. Currently 16s (20s WH) he was 3rd in both the Leinster and Ulster nationals off a mark of 127. Has reverted back to hurdles off 107 and first run was over 20f which is just too short so hopefully that was just a run out. Todays extra 3f is much more to his liking and trainer is 3-7 at the track and 2-4 over hurdles.

I think Ruby has a cracking book of rides today in Navan and hoping that he can have a good few winners.
I've left his ride for his father out but included Ballycassy Shaneshill and one that Im thinking could prove to be a decent horse in Labaik. I saw him in Punchestown the last day and he did it like a good horse. Took some 5-1 that bet365 had earlier and pleased to see a bit come for it now.

I've also backed Special Tiara and Winter Escape. I think a front running Special Tiara could have the opposition strung out and he may get a valuable early lead that may not be reigned in.
There's alot to like about Winter Escapes' previous wins and the manner in which he took them, hopefully Barry can steer him home in front but I am cautious of Modus at the same time.

    Best of luck

Of the Pauling three, A Hare Breath would be the one i'd be siding with...the times suggest its soft testing ground, they're gonna go quick up front and your gonna want something thats gonna jump and travel in behind, nearly sure i read something somewhere with trainer saying he doesnt think CM handles soft/heavy.

i went with Cyrius moriviere for value as well at 40/1. He is an unknown quantity really but id imagine if it doesn't rain today the ground might end up good-soft. worth a risk at 40/1 that he is actually as good as he looked that day.

Good ride on Moon Racer, such a classy animal.

    Ballyandy was very slow jumping

Probably a hard race to analyse. The long time leader managed to finish second.

None of them probably good enough to win a good supreme.

Wasn't much of a gallop in that race and 5 of them finishing within 3 lengths of each other. I'm sure WP Mullins has one or 2 better than those

Faster pace will and we will see an even better Moon Racer. Ballyandy should probably step up in trip although the way a Supreme would be run would probably suit him.

Labaik would eat the hill at Cheltenham.

Showed some acceleration there alright. Had written him off before 2 out.

Tragic especially given his stablemate went out on a high today.

If we're being honest Simonsig was probably kept going beyond what he should have.

I'm no fan, but not sure why any blame should attach to Henderson here. It's just one of those things, very sad for connections and for racing, a very tough game at times.

Jacob somehow managed to get Footpad beaten in a G1 at Auteuil. The Carberrys have a well fancied one in the last there.

Nice double for Sean Flanagan fair play to him

I am not a big tipper but have it from good source that westland row will not be beating in the last in navan

Nina gave Minella Fair a good write up in the Racing Post yesterday. Seems solid in the market.

Decent shout. Always worth watching in these races, not sure why her's should be twice the price of Brassil's one anyway.

Great Shout. Hope you ignored your source about Westland Row! Kates one of the better looking female jockeys, but a bit flappy in a finish.

The Carberrys won the last at Auteuil by the way.

Well played sir. She really is a gem in those kind of races. Head carriage on Meade's was not encouraging.

Was the Carberry horse any kind of price? Couldn't find the race, not used to navigating for the foreign races online, well done anyway.
