I was in a motorcycle accident yesterday. It happened during work and I received muscle strained injuries. No broken bones, just cuts and bruises. Im still pretty sire after it.
Im thinking of claiming cause the person I collided with was at fault and I believe I was over worked at the time.
Im still in shock because I thought the person I collided with died.
Is there a time limit I have to contact lawyers?

What did the doctor say your injuries were when you first visited them?

Have you reported it to your insurance?

Sorry to hear about your accident.
Give it a few days to recover and see how you feel.

I believe the statute of limitations on personal injury is 2 years. Be cautious though, I am no legal expert, but the above statement seems like your are accepting some of the "blame" by insinuating that you were overworked which could be construed as tired/distracted.

In reality if you believe someone else was at fault for your pain and suffering, by all means contact a solicitor sooner rather than later. But remember, there is no guarantee that you will "win" and could end up out of pocket.

It would depend on whether the OP was driving the Motorcycle or another insured vehicle class or not. If the OP was on an insured vehicle, they would be required to contact their insurance in the event of an accident even if no blame was attached to the OP. The person who the OP believed to be dead may also have a counter claim and this would definitely go to the OP's insurance if it exists.

Your so relieved that the person you collided with didn't die that hours later you want to put in a claim against them?

Give yourself time to recover and then weigh up all of your options.

Can I ask what you mean by 'I was overworked at the time'?

It is best to have a word with a solicitor within a few days. A warning letter may have to be sent to the person who caused the accident. A copy of the garda report will be needed. Delay can make things complicated. Make sure to get a recommended solicitor who has acted for someone you know and is upfront about costs.
