    Hi,

Can someone advise - I am having the same issue with gauge not rising - I have changed the thermostat and after reading the above, changed to coolant sensor also, but still not look. There is some heat in the vents, but not as hot as it used to be. Any advice?

you have either low coolant level or an airlock in your coolant system, either of which would cause the heater not to work properly.

The temp gauge is a result of the problem not the cause

Coolant level is fine - could i fix an airlock myself or is there another indicator that this could be the problem?

    Thanks for your replies.

As above could be an air locked system, what car do you drive?

Had a similar issue on a Yaris.

    Blocked heater core.

Video below should help, good luck.

Not a major job, bit messy, so have bottle or two of coolant and a basin to catch any spillage.
