Amazon Prime Free 30 Day Trial

My little girl wants a particular Lego set for Christmas. I have seen it on Amazon at significantly lower price (€20 less) but it says that that price is reserved for Prime Customers.

It says that there is a Free 30 Day Trial with no money being taken until the end of the 30 days and that you can cancel anytime within the 30 days.

Has anyone any experience of this and any pitfalls to joining buying the item and then cancelling before the 30 days is up ?

    Thanks in advance

No problems on doing that, I did the same last month, you can cancel straight away are starting the trial, you can place any orders as you want within the 30 days.

For amazon prime, you need to have a UK address, user Parcel Wizard, Motel or address pal.

Yep have done this also with no issues. Forgot to cancel within the 30 days and cancelled about 2 days late. They refunded the money they'd taken from my card without me even having to ask. Came in very handy for Black Friday deals.

I signed up by mistake, I got some link from them and thought it was just about prime, I figured they are trustworthy and would have expected to have to enter my CC details or confirm some sort of cost, but I never got any notification, which I certainly would have expected, you get all sorts of other payment confirmations from them.

It was in the small print which I did not read (blah blah -only yourself to blame etc), I actually never copped that prime cost money to join. I had previously thought it was some subscription thing, like if you keep buying the same item each month (e.g. food or nappies) that you got discount.

They charged me for 2 months for this, no email at all indicating payment was taken or thanking me for payment. I thought it was very sneaky. I only noticed it on my CC bill.

I got a full refund for both months though, it seems if you do not actually use the prime service you are not charged. Online I saw some people who did actually use it still got refunds after complaining. Huge amount of people in the UK got stung.

Which reminds me I have to unregister my CC with them, they were one of the few sites I did not class as being in anyway dodgy, but now do.
If you have a free trial of Prime, your trial will automatically convert to a paid membership at the end of your free trial. You can avoid conversion to a paid membership by adjusting your membership settings in ‘Your Account’ within 30 days of signing up.

If you paid your membership fee as soon as you joined Prime, you may cancel within within 14 days of signing up. If neither you nor anyone authorized by you to use your account has taken advantage of any Prime benefits we will refund your first month’s membership fee in full. To cancel within the 14-day period, just adjust your membership settings in Your Account or use this cancellation form.

Your membership has a monthly duration and will be extended automatically. If you don’t want your membership to extend automatically, you may change this in Your Account at any time by selecting “end membership” and you won’t be charged for the next membership period. You can always request a refund of your most recent membership fee if neither you nor anyone authorized by you to use your account has taken advantage of any Prime benefits in that membership period.
