    Hi guys,

Would anyone know where I could find waterproof paper that is biodegradable? Perhaps in Ireland? I need it to cover a plain table surface.

I looked online but most of what I see is developed at one university or another, not a . I'm not looking for a spray material like the nano-spray, just paper - A4 or bigger sizes.

I'd really appreciate any advice or pointers.

Do you mean grease proof paper? Or baking paper? I couldn't find wax paper as such

I'd have thought being both waterproof and biodegradable would be mutually exclusive to be honest.

To be clear, do you want it to protect the table from water or liquids, or some other purpose, and why does it have to be biodegradable?

I use a special waterproof paper for printing maps on, and you can also write on it, it's as tough as boots too, but is far from biodegradable.

    Hi Alan,

yes i would like it to protect the table from water and liquids. I'm developing a product that has to be waterproof and eco-friendly i.e biodegradable.

I tried greaseproof paper but it isn't very water resistant, It would tear easily.

The only wax paper i found was -
    Reynolds Cut-Rite Wax Paper

Here are some recent developments on the topic, however i can't find the company producing them. But even if i do, i feel they will charge a fortune to get it shipped here. So im hoping to find a easier solution.

The other option is Alibaba, getting it from China - although they have a minimum order which i can't really afford at the moment.

Surely a liquid you apply to the table would be better?

That would also do, Would you know anything specific for that?

Not an expert but beeswax? Maybe use tung oil or hemp oil beforehand?

Making sheets of something overcomplicates things in my eyes as you need the sheet to biodegrade as opposed to applying something to the table itself which will biodegrade with the table?

Thanks colm, i suppose beeswax is an option.

Are there any environment friendly paint i could use to waterproof the surface? something that is biodegradeable ?
