Ive been on 70meg since I get efibre 18+ months ago, hassled eir for a few months after that hoping to get closer to 100meg as I'm only about 50m from the cabinet but each time was told they were waiting for vectoring to be enabled so I gave up.

Fast forward last Friday when I rang support as my connection was dropping regularly after 18 months of a solid connection. they mentioned my line should be able for closer to 100meg so there and then they upped my line to 100 meg but the disconnections continued so I thought id ring again the drop back to 70 for fear it wasn't helping the existing fault.

Eventually I got an engineer out today, he replaced the socket on the wall and gave me a new modem, all seems well so far but I wondering if I should ring to get back on to the 100meg profile or wait to see if indeed the fault is fixed and maybe give it a few days first.

I'm no expert but looking at the following stats it looks capable of 100 meg and should be solid?

Opinions from the experts in here welcome :)

Stats are stellar as you can see yourself. dAtten should be lower in theory but in practice modems can't always get an accurate figure on the extremes of the scale.

    Ruled out:
    Line being pushed too far
    Faulty internals

    Potential:
Bursts of noise - You should see this in the error counters. A sustained burst will cause a re-sync but a short burst will increment the counters while staying up
Bad joint - A bad joint can drop a line but be invisible 99% the time. If you've an aerial drop it'll correspond to windy days, at that range through I wouldnt be surprised if its all UG. In that case, rodents can be right cúnts.
Bad port - not likely, can be verified by a tech who's bothered to make two visits.
Non L1 issue - Have you determined that the DSL uptime resets when it drops out? If not this may be nothing for the field techs to deal with and not related to your stats at all.

You can bump it up now, but itll only create arguments with support staff when troubleshooting so I'd leave it until you've got things nailed down.

Thanks for that, I wasn't following the DSL uptime after resets unfortunately, however it just dropped and instantly proceeded to resync each time it dropped.
Ill leave it until Monday of next week before upping the profile.

Connection solid since socket and modem change, rang to change profile this morning.
    Fingers crossed it stays stable.

Sorry for chiming in on your thread Dcully, I'm in a similar boat to yourself, vectoring was enabled on my cab recently and I was previously on a 50mb profile, rang them and got a bump to 70mb but I may be slightly further from the cab at in or around 100m or so...

Any of you more techy minded folks think I can go faster with these stats?
