in need of a new gas boiler asap

    hi all, we just bought a new house, moved in last week and.. the gas boiler just died on us yesterday morning (Idealclassic make).. im looking to do it up the best way- I was told to look up Worcester Bosch, Weissman and glow warm.. we need it done asap as its freezing cold. any installers able to give me prices? i have only quoted Airticity.. we are also on a tight budget after purchasing.. any advices please?we are in Tallaght. Thanks

    Is it not possible to repair the boiler? Have you had an RGI look at it?

    We actually had 2 rgi looking at it. We were told it's gonna die anyway..I have a guy coming to price in an hour. The boiler is too old 20+years

    The ideal classic are a solid simple boiler,.
    Unless the heat exchanger is cracked or leaking replacing a part would be a lot cheaper than a new boiler installation.
    Did any of them say what exactly was wrong with it?

    Some guys will always sell you a new one ? What does the boiler do ? Anything ?

    We have an Ideal Classic in our house that's going strong for 20 years, and has only needed a new fan. Rock solid.
