So, im moving into a new house, new build with some snazzy centralised solution for satellite etc

    the blurb is

"Each home has been cabled with a state of the art fibre
optic signal distribution system, eliminating the need for
unsightly aerials and satellite dishes. All houses are prewired
for high resolution multi-room audio systems as well
as a full 7.1 cinema system, Wi-Fi distribution and CCTV.
All cabling will be accommodated neatly in the pre-wired
equipment cabinets located within the houses utility room."

i assume that this means that we get a connection in an equipment cabinet to the dish that serves the whole 22 house development.

assuming that this is correct i would love to ditch virgin for my tv needs, all i really need from them is BB as our tv consumption is mostly netflix and terrestrial irish and uk stations i really dont need the rest of the stuff.

so if i wanted to have a 3 room set up, one room with the best box, pvr, media player etc and the two other rooms to have standard tv (maybe basic pvr if possible) with independent channel switching capabilities.

im reasonably good with technology, but more of a self taught bumbler than any sort of proper expert. Id like to get something that can be set up and left because i am a demon for messing with things ( i had to ditch android phones because i was constantly flashing roms for some unknown reason)

so, im thinking something like a vu2 duo with a stable firmware for the main room and what for the other two? or is there a more affordable main room box thats quick and stable?

    thanks :D

I'd highly doubt a system like that would have any foreign content!

Sorry this seemed like the best forum as people seemed to discuss combo boxes a lot here

has that house or houses been built yet?? There must be a booklet that explains the comms room a bit better or is it a closed system ie you take cable or nothing? or name of builder.
