    Two vicious thugs who attacked an elderly family get half their sentence suspended because of their drug habit.
    If it not drugs it's their hard upbringing that seems to get the sympathy of judges.

    Unless the received no jail in the first place (in whcih case you can be damn sure someone started a thread about it) how down having your sentence halved get you out of jail...?

    Let's see... you are sentenced to 10 years, you get it halved to 5 years, so you get out 5 years early, quite simple.
