    Hi,
We are students in Dundalk making a game to help primary school students learn the fundamentals of maths.
We are looking for feedback from teachers on whether or not this would help students. Any advice is welcome.

    The game:
Students are given three boxes with numerical values, a target value and a 'maths machine'(an interactive calculator). They need to pick two values to put in to the machine, choose the operator(+, -, x, /) and then get the output as another box.
The game would be on a tablet with and would work by touch.

Here is a gallery showing a walkthrough of the game to give you an idea of how it would work. https://imgur.com/a/YJFeT

Most primary schools don't use tablets. It might work on an IWB .

To be honest, I don't think it's something I'd pay for ,there are lots and lots of free sites which will do the same thing, you'd need to make it broader than just picking the operator. The other issue is that children don't do multiplication/division until 4th by which stage they would usually be able to choose an operator easily.

Please don't take this as negativity, I'm trying to be helpful/honest.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Its not something we would charge for. It is for an assignment where we need to design a game to be accessible to all or a certain group.

Its more than picking the operator, the idea being they see the target value and the values they have. The 'challenge' is breaking down the target value into two sums out of the three starting values. Would this be too easy for the average 4th class student?

That should be fine, might also work with a high ability 3rd class child.
