    Hello folks,

I have done a lot of site work around a fixed up old bungalow which I bought and the digger is gone. He scraped the back yard. Years of gravel an use have compacted it hard already. But its also a bit mucky now that he has scraped off the top layer of grass. Its a gravely earth. Its slightly sloping and really its a bit high to put in 4 inches of 804 without digging down which I cannot do at present.
I just need something to get over the winter and can address the problem properly next spring. At the moment its impossible to keep boots, house or floor from getting covered in bits of stones, muck an gravel every time the kids step outside the door.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot.

A load of 1/2 inch down, level it round and hire out a small vibrating roller.

It will give a nice clean footing for the winter and not cost the earth.

Similar but down to dust, when rolled well it beds down into a decent surface.
