Audi music streaming

    Hi,

I've searched high and low for an answer to this.

    I have a 2012 A4 SE Technik.
I can make and receive phone calls using bluetooth and the MMI.

However, I can't stream music/spotify from my phone to the MMI using bluetooth.

In the MMI settings I don't have the option to turn on "BLUETOOTH audio player". I have seen this option online e.g. http://www.audibeaverton.com/blog/2013/april/19/audi-bluetooth-streaming.htm

Do I need a firmware update to get this feature, or what are my options?

    Thanks

Under Telephone bluetooth settings there is an option in there to toggle on/off "Bluetooth audio". That's probably switched off. Then you might need to pair your device for audio as well as for calls. Then when you re-select the Media option you should see your phone appear as one of the playback options. I can take a couple of pics of ours later this evening if you haven't figured it out by then...

If you have it activated in the phone, and the car audio does not have ad2p, then you can install "bluetooth mono" or "BT router" in your phone. That will send the audio from the car using the old method (the one for the calls) instead of the audio streaming.

I had a look at ours there.

Press the "Tel" button. Then Settings - Bluetooth - Bluetooth audio player. Set that to On.

Then go to Media and you should see your phone appear as one of the options.
