My oh was bleeding the radiators this evening and one of them is just spewing out loads of water from where you'd put the little key in to bleed it.

Anyone any advice on how to stop this? Tia

    Turn off both rad valves.

We have the radiator setting at zero, took the cap off the little connection on the other side and tried to close that using a pliers going clockwise but no change

Do we close it by going clockwise or anti?

    And thank you

Thanks is it a case of turning it clockwise till it stops? We spent a good five minutes at it.

If it make a new difference the nut the key fits into to bleed the radiator appears to be missing

    Thanks again

    Yes until it stops.
It probably flew off with the pressure. Look around for it. Is it inside the key?

Sorry for another stupid question it's the little spindly bit on top of the nut I should be turning?

As for the nut and key the oh has that and he's buggered off to bed lol

Get him out of bed. There could be a lot of water by morning.
Any chance you have of finding the screw and putting it back in is worth losing a little sleep over.

We found a nut that fit and the leaking has stopped. Getting the plumber in tomorrow

Sincere thanks to you all without your advice we'd have been stuck

    Thanks!
