Upgrade advice

Folks,
I'm upgrading my son's gaming PC for Xmas.
Can you advise on best MB, CPU and RAM for the budget of €350 please ?

Old PC specs are:
ASUS P5B-Deluxe with wifi
Intel 2 Duo E6600
DDR2 4GB
GeForce GTX 960 (want to keep reuse this in new build)
150GB SSD
500GB HDD

Looking at the following:
MB, ASUS H110I-PLUS @ €80
Processor, Intel Core i5-6400 - 2.7GHz - Socket 1151 @ €210
memory, Crucial 8GB - PC4-7000 - DIMM @ €44

total cost = €334, (within budget).

I'd really like onboard WIFI like the previous MB if possible... any thoughts?

I notice it's not standard on many MB's these days.... must be the trend.

It's only really a feature of higher end or ITX boards with HTPC in mind, 95% of boards don't have built in wifi. Just as handy (and cheaper) to get a more basic board and add an adaptor.

KO's suggestions are pretty much bang on the money.

A GTX960 with an E6600....that has to be a new record around here for the most mis-matched hardware ever! I had an E6600 back in 2006 with a X1950Pro

yes, the original graphics card died last year... so got the GTX960 as a replacement... I'm just getting round to the CPU and MB now.

Yes and if you also buy a case off them it is another €30. Cases are shipped from a different locations so in a separate box.

No they went into receivership. They went bankrupt and if you payed ny bank transfer you lost all your money. There was a lot of people here screwed by them. There is a very lengthy thread on here about it.

Well you will always have to pay for shipping in Ireland not like in the UK where they get free shipping.

Check the UK sites as well (amazon, overclockers) shipping might be cheaper, or possibly free even if the parts are listed at a more expensive price
