Focus engine malfunction

    I've a 08 Focus 1.6 TDCi and the engine malfunction light came on this evening. It's happened me twice before and both occasions it was the diesel particulate filter needing regeneration. However both those times the car went into limp mode but it didn't this time - is it safe to drive?

    I was planning on driving from Limerick to Dublij tomorrow, the car has just done Castleisland to Limerick with no issues and 2 stops

    It may be a small issue, but I would be getting it looked at asap. Driving with the warning sign on is not recommended. It could compound the issue. Hope it's nothing major, good luck.
