    remember Xtra Vision?
    Remember DVDs?

well now you can relive those far gone days with Xtra Vision Xpress DVD vending machines (they also have something called Blu-Ray?).

but wait, there's more. Your first rental is free, and as there's no membership, you can get a free rental with each credit/debit card you have.

And all without having to argue with some surly youth about whether you forgot to rewind Die Hard 2 before returning it in 1997 and still owe them 50p.

Not everyone has a decent web connection. Regardless of the year.

When will they just give up. They missed their chance years ago. Only a matter of time before these machines are pulled from stores.

I love one of these machines near me, a good download doesn't beat a blu-ray for quality.

Unfortunately, they are too few and far in-between.

Can't see why people are so hostile towards them. Can't cost too much to keep them going. Unfortunately, I can't see them making much profit either, I suppose.

what do you mean they missed their chance?

I'd use one if there was one near me, I don't have broadband or sky movies so if I want to see anything new its on DVD.

I'd say people like me are less than 1% of the market though. I used one before and its €3 which is expensive considering their running costs compared to the old shops they had.

There have been services like this in other countries for over a decade now. They are late to the party.

If they had done this 6 or 7 years ago I could see it having some success, but not now. The market is so small.

2014 is still too late to bring a service like this to the market IMO. I haven't bought a DVD since 2008/2009. If it included blu rays or PS3/360/XB1/PS4 games, fair enough.

€3 for 24 hours is also too much.

Thought they've been around longer. Hm.
No I agree though, haven't bought a disc in donkeys years, what with the internet and all.

They come to your house and beat you with sticks for a further 24 hours.

they keep charging you €3 per day, once you've paid €15 you can keep the disc.

Sir please don't lie, the method of beating I described above is the only fact here.

    €1.50 a day, actually

If you want an actual bargain with this machine, I'd recommend signing up with an email address when you rent a DVD. It gets linked to your card, so you only have to do it once. They send out codes for special offers every few weeks (free rental, 2 for 1, two for €5)

They've also let me keep it for 2 nights the last few times I've used it. Whether that's for all rentals or just with discount which I use, I don't know
