We have an oak veneer trifold doors splitting our sitting room dining/kitchen. Oak door in sitting room and one entering the kitchen. We are wanting to change these to walnut however we can't find someone selling walnut tri fold doors and TBH, they are expensive so want to keep the oak tri fold in place. Would it look awful if we had a walnut door entering the sitting room, kitchen and the tri fold in oak.

Without actually seeing the situation it is impossible to know, but I reckon if you just do what you are suggesting, no one but you will notice what colour the doors are, and in a month's time even you will not notice!

A lot depends on how many other wood types are on show

    Hi Shugly,
You may be able to get the door wrapped in walnut. Lots of commercial companies do this but it is not cheap.
Check out the attached video. It looks and feels like wood and you can only tell if you look really closely.

Ended up finding a place that sells them in walnut however you can see it's walnut veneer when doors are folding away. An extra 750£ though :(

Can I ask where you saw them? We want to knock the wall between our kitchen and dining room, but put up folding doors. I've seen that some places seem to do special hinges that allow normal doors to fold back like that, which would probably work out cheaper, but I've been wondering if there's a better option!
