Satellite splitter or Octo lnb?

I have a sky quad lnb at the moment, 2 of which are going directly into sitting room and 2 are going to attic where there is a sky plus box which is then distributed around the house. I have an Openbox which I want to put in another room and I was wondering which is best a splitter or upgrade to octo lnb and get a direct feed.

If a splitter would anyone have an example? Would it need power?

If an octo I would be terrified of disturbing the dish, are they relatively easy to remove? I'm pretty sure I got a new dish since 2009 but is there an easy way of telling? Hopefully I've explained correctly

Octo LNB would be recommended as you cannot split an existing satellite cable and then expect independent operation for each receiver. Each tuner requires a direct connection to an output on the LNB or multiswitch in certain installations.

Read the information relating to Sky dishes and LNBs contained in this link - http://www.freetv.ie/octo-lnb/

If you have the correct type of dish and are comfortable working off a ladder the swap over is easy enough. When swapping over note the skew (position) of the old LNB.

Ok so I have a mk4, is it ok just to unscrew the bracket and replace the lnb so I don't have to take the bracket off the dish? Are the numbers 1-5 the skew, is there a line to see which one its on?

Also, the bubble is off centre, should this be causing me any problems?

    Thanks

Actually the bracket joint seems to form an arrow which is pointing at 3

Yes the numbers are the skew, simply unscrew the bracket and swap over the LNB.

It means the dish is skewed to begin with, so you'd have to skew the LNB in the opposite direction to counteract it.

Now whether the effect would actually be noticeable in the signal is another matter, depends how much it's 'off' I suppose.
