Late NCT

Hello all. Besides being away for a few months and my car failing on emissions which I am finding difficult to rectify, NCT is now pretty late. NCT was due on 10th March 2016, I am hoping the emissions will finally be fixed in the next few weeks.

Can anyone tell me if I book in and pass test before 9th December 2016 (over 90 days to 2017 test due date) will I only get a cert until 10th March 2017?

    OR

If I go in 10th December 2016 (within 90 days of 2017 test due date) will I get a cert for one year from 10th December 2016-10th December 2017 or will the cert be still until 10th March 2017?

    Thank you.

    That's correct.

No, you'll get until 10th March 2018. Double check the exact 90 days if doing this.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Car is over 10 years old so will only get the one year but thanks for the clarification on this!

Ye, an NCT passed within the 90 days before 10th March 2017 will give you a 1 year test from 10th March 2017, so until 10th March 2018.

No worries, I was in this situation myself a few times with a newly purchased car that had been off the road and missed its NCT. Good luck with it.
