Been a great year for me overall. Played cack handed since 2007. Got to an ok level up until i stopped the game in 2013 when i moved to Canada(still here). My game was like many cack handed people. Some shots were fantastic, most were terrible.

Rewind to 2015, my company does a golf day. Hadnt played since 2013 but talked an ok game to my co-workers. When the day came i was shocking. Could hardly hit the ball and no power but the power was expected as i only had a shoulder operation five and a half months ago.

This year decided to pick it up properly. Luckily my company give a 1k credit for sports stuff like clubs so picked up a set of taylormade rs1's for 750 and also nike driver reduced from 550 to 180 along with putter and bag. Cost me out of pocket about 400 after all done when everything put in so was delighted. Kitted out nicely. Never had "good" clubs before.

So work golf game was first week of july. Did driving range five times and two lessons and coach said he would wait until after golf day and we can re-evaluate my cack hand swing. Not very common in canada compared to ireland cos he had never seen it.

I was pretty poor at the golf day looking back but at the time i taught i was killing it. Fast forward to mid july i had another lesson and tried the "correct" way of hitting a ball. God it was so sh1t. No feel, no distance. Went with a co-worker to the driving range a week after and almost snapped a club in half with frustration. Luckily he talked me down and i stuck with it. Was ready to sell my clubs and move on. Thank you man!!!

Fast forward 3.5 months of hard practice. Range at least once a week and game every weekend with the last two months my game is at a different level. Hit a birdie two weeks ago. Have 2 to 4 pars a round, few bogeys and double bogeys. Feel like tiger woods compared to where i was.

To sum up the year it has been great. Took a ton of practice but truly love the game. Unfortunately only a couple of weekends left in canada so if i can say anything to ye at home, enjoy the luxury of pretty much 12 months of golf.

Aim for 2017 is shoot a round of 85 and a few rounds 90 or under.
