N-Plate Question

    Hi guys just a quick question.

    I only got my full driving license earlier this year, but I will have my full motorbike license for 2 years this month. I'm wondering do I still have to display the N-Plates on my car?

    The RSA website states that;

    "The novice period applies only once ie someone who holds a driving licence for a category of vehicle and who after a period of two years becomes entitled to drive another category, does not become a novice in respect of the new category."

    Since I've held a novice license for a motorbike for 2 years, does the N plate restriction for the car go away together with the motorbike one? Since it states "The novice period applies only once"?

    Since you've worn your N tabard every time you've ridden for the last two years [says he trying to keep a straight face] and as you've discovered, your novice period is not peculiar to each category, you can indeed bin your N plates off your cage once you hit the two year mark on the bikes.

    Can you carry a pillion over the period you had the N plates for bike?

    From here.
    It is a penal offence to carry a passenger if you hold a learner permit.
