If your still on firmware 3.55 (came out between December 2011 and January 2012, so very unlikely you are) you can flash custom firmware yourself. If not, you can have the firmware flashed on to your PS3 with a hardware flasher if you know someone who has one.

You need an old Phat model or the Slim PS3, Im 99% sure the Super Slim cant run custom firmware as the earliest ones came with firmware 3.7.1, you might not even be able to do it on the last batch of Slim PS3's that shipped with firmware higher then 3.55, but I could be wrong about that last part.
