PRSI Class S Contractor - Would I be eligible for JSA?

Currently a PAYE contractor with a company (through an umbrella company), paying both employer and employee PRSI, which is to the tune of 600/mo, it's PRSI Class A.

I am considering moving to a PRSI Class S with another umbrella company. The monthly bottom line would put on average an extra €500 into my hand after all deductions. Obviously this sounds appealing.... but at what expense?

Would I be eligible for any JSA if I found myself out of work, or am I removing this possibility? If I am, it's a gamble, whereas it doesn't look like I'll be unemployed any time soon, these things can happen and I do not want to leave myself in a dire situation if the worst comes to pass.

Jsa yes but it's means tested.

but will need to look at it closer later. It seems as means might be taken as amount earned last year, rather than amount in savings etc.

It seems like, if I earned - say - 50K last year, found myself unemployed, the first 20K is excluded, I'd then have deductions of €10 off the next 10K, and €40 off the 20K after that.

Does this mean I'd get a payment of 138/wk (188 - 50)?

No idea tbh you along have to factor in that if you are living with a partner their means are included
