Bad botox

    Hi all,
I recently had notox for the first time. During a lengthy consultation with the doctor i asked about under eye treatments as i hated the dark circles under my eyes. He explained the botox wouldnt treat this but a fresher look may improve the appearance so i went ahead.

It took about 5 days for me to notice any differance. I only had faint lines on my forehead but was happy to see them disappear. Then i noticed 2 horrizontal lines under my eyes when i talk, laugh, smile or make any facial expressions which make the skin under my eyes look crepe and i now look a lot older than before the treatment. Its awfull looking.

I returned for my 2 week check up and expressed my worries to the doctor who asked me to come back and see another doctor which i did. This doctor who i later found out is the owner tried to blame this on everything from exercise to bone structure, anything except the treatment, and the only solution offered was facial fillers which i would have to pay another €300 for.

Iv researched this and this can be an effect from botox which is placed too low where there is an already problematic under eye area. Im fuming as i feel the doctor should have anticipated this as i had drawn his attention to the area before the treatment. I dont want to get facial fillers... especially not from them anyway, and i cant afford to. Does anyone know where i can go further about this as im getting no satisfaction from the company. The owner hasnt even acknowledged my complaint im messaging the receptionist who has basicly said they'r not going to do anything. So i just have to wait months for this to wear off looking 10 years older than i am. I hate looking in the mirror. Its having a major impact on my self esteem.

Iv noticed i cant even leave a comment/reveiw on their website or facebook page conveniently. Sorry for the rambling post any help would be appreciated as i dont feel they should get away with treating people this way.

First of all Im sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the results of your cosmetic procedure.

Thankfully the botox WILL wear off so perhaps you can investigate to find out if there are ways that this can be encouraged to happen a bit more quickly?

Regarding the place that did the botox - they must have a formal complaints procedure? Were you treated by a real doctor? It might be worth investigating if complaints about cosmetic procedures are dealt with by the medical council or as this is cosmetic are you limited to making a consumer complaint?

You might be better off consulting with your solicitor on this. I would think though, as the effects are temporary, that there is probably not a huge amount to be gained legally. I could be wrong of course.

    Best of luck.
