Any thoughts on how I should tile this doorstep http://imgur.com/a/GQjE2

Would you remove the existing slabs or just tile over them? This is what I was thinking of putting down https://www.pinterest.com/pin/370561875573457386/
Tile over existing, assuming they're sound. Too much hassle to remove them and if you do, then you will be left with just a sliver on the front row. It'll look a better job with a fuller tile on the front edge. The tiles you pictured that you want to put down will need a perfectly level surface so if you are not that handy, i'd be inclined to get down a layer of leveling compound first.
