Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This road project is underway now...

http://connachttribune.ie/road-improvements-sound-death-knell-former-railway-bridge-200/. Has anyone got more information on the project and how it is progressing?

Good day for the roads :), sad day for the railways :( - IMO, that bridge should be replaced as it is likely that a commuter rail route will be required between Galway, Athenry and Tuam in the future - the Tuam Bypass includes a structure for the same railway - not only that, but included there is provision for a double track.

"The status of replacing the former railway bridge at Ballyglunin is to be raised with the Minister for Transport.

A local councillor has claimed this week that €100,000 has been wasted on designing a bridge that “Irish Rail have told us they have no need for”. The bridge was demolished during road alignment works on the N63.
The proposal to knock the bridge was hotly debated by County Councillors in recent years – some called for a guarantee that it would be replaced to facilitate the re-opening of the railway line while others argued that a pedestrian bridge would be sufficient as there was no hope of the railway line being used again.
It has now emerged that approval for the bridge design must now be secured at European level before anything else can happen on the project "

N63 Liss to Abbey scheme - it'll be nice to see it happen but this side of 2020 is ambitious.

TII are stone mad to get these done due to the massive safety benefits for the small outlay - but Shane Ross doesn't feel the same so they are being done very slowly.
