    Hi.

I'm trying to buy two tickets to a show in NYC in December through the Ticketmaster. Com site but i can't.

Basically i get to the purchase screen, enter card details and address but it won't let me get any further as it keeps asking for an alternate phone number. I've entered my own Irish number, entered my wife's Irish one as the alternate but it still asks for it when I click to buy.

Is it because I don't have a US number that's the problem?

If so, is there any way around this?

    Tia.

Try any random U.S. number, for example 555-2323 (God's number from "Bruce Almighty").

Have you tried to enter your number in International format 011-353-87 ? Can you not use the number for the hotel or place you are staying?

good idea. I remember in the early days of the internet my address was always beverly hills 90210.

The number is usually needed as a backup if they cannot contact you by email. I have never once had a company ring me yet have put it in countless times.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but nothing has worked trying the above.

Absolute pain in the hole of a site.

That must be the first bad word I ever heard said against ticketmaster! ;) I find them faultless, their €6.10 additional service fees are an absolute bargain compared to www.tickets.ie that can offer the exact same box office collection for absolutely nothing -and still presumably make a decent profit even though they are a much smaller operation.

I think in the US they are even worse.

I am not sure if these are real or spoofs. First is hopefully a joke, but would not surprise me.

The charges over there are a helluva lot worse.

The tickets I was looking to buy were $67 each, total payable incl service charge was $167.
