    I wouldn't. They're a minefield. Kia Ceed/Hyundai i30 have a much more robust engine IMO

    Reliability is hit and miss on the 1.6 TDCi and totally at the mercy of how the previous owner maintained the car. If I was recommending something for my mother then it wouldn't be something with that engine. A Hyundai i30, Kia Ceed or Toyota Auris would be less risky imo. Of if she ain't doing long trips then a hybrid.

    I have this car + it's very reliable. I have a long commute so doing a lot of mileage + has never let me down once in 3 years. Now I do look after it + when I get it serviced it can cost a bit replacing brake pads, tyres etc but that's only because of the mileage I'm doing.
