The entrance way to our yard is open a very large open, plan on making a proper entrance to it for the obvious reasons (security), some ideas we were considering were a wall, a post a d rail fence or just stakes and wire along with 2 gates, want to keep the costs low. Have anybody got any other ideas or the pros and cons of the above.

How wide is it? Is it like a yard facing open onto a road? 20-30m?

Leave a good pull in from the road , 4m is the recommended from the road edge to the gates and at least a twenty foot ope seen as you have the space.post and rail isn't very long term unless it's done in concrete. I'm a huge fan of white thorn and holly hedging either side well kept it looks well and nothing will go through it.

Do it properly if fun tokens go that far. Stone faced wall with beech hedging behind with a big heavy rolling gate you can put a heavy padlock on.
