Heavy rail airport link proposal

With the clongriffen link seaming to have been killed off should we be looking at a new area to start a link to the airport from. one that encompasses more of the network allowing our airport to be better served by our national rail service im no expert but im sure some here will be able to explain to me why the area where the main line to sligo and the phoenix tunnel line first meet cant be made into a 4 way junction with a new line being built north underground towards the airport and further onto swords possibly rejoining the northern line beyond malahide?

There was a major consultancy report in 2003 which gave the idea a massive thumbs up and as usual everyone ignored it.

Thanks looks like a decent proposal apart from it seaming not to have a direct connection between the airport and the heuston line without a reversal
