Hi, got pulled over by gardai last 19 October, my first time. He took my details and all and adviced that I pay the fine than go to court. How long should I wait for the notice letter to come in before I get worried it's lost in the post (read horror stories about this)?? or am I just fretting about it too much?? I'll be on holidays too in late November-December so want to get it dealt with asap. Thanks for any help/advice!

I'd say within the next week you will get the notice in the post. Did he take your address or will he take it from the ownership record of the car which I presume is your current address?

If it's lost in the post it's lost in the post, nothing you can do for the fact they send it by standard unregistered post.

Yeah, he took my address from my license and asked me to confirm it's the same, which it is. Hopefully get the notice soon. Also, is the 28-day window from 19th october or from the date they issue the letter, right?

Usually takes about 3-4 weeks for letter to appear. You have 28days from date of letter to pay.

You can pay at a post office.

Contact the FCPN office on 1890304060 and they will advise you if/when it was issued and if lost they can re-issue.
