    Hi

I would like to put open dns on my eir router to stop porn being accessed on any devices and that may be using wifi in my home.

I can't access the exact instructions fir zyxel eircom d1000 so if anyone could help me I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

Who are you trying to block from accessing it ?

Bro code will prevent us from helping you block your husband or bf from enjoy a tug on the side.

    Children

What adults do with their own data is their own business, I would like to keep kids who use my wifi a tiny bit innocent for as long as possible.

You don't need to change the DNS settings on the router if you have access to each device the kids are using because you can change the DNS settings on the device. Either way kids can get around that by setting their own DNS settings.

Fair enough, I agree with your efforts.

In the top menu “Internet” choose on the left hand side “Internet Settings” for eFibre choose on the right hand side edit “VDSL WAN-1” and look for static DNS.

Eircom should have parental settings in place that you may activate at whim.

Thanks very helpful. From a quick read of that it appears that it's not easy/possible to set up open dns on eir wifi... that makes me feel a lot less stupid, as I thought I was doing something wrong. I'll try and sort it via eir so.

    Thanks for all help.

    Hi Stacey.

I've not been able to resolve this yet. I've been talking to Tech support but they don't seem to be aware of any parental control that can be done from the wifi that will block any inappropriate content.

We have also had issues regarding slow broadband lately and Philip has been very helpful in improving this annoying issue.

    Thank you

    Hi Lisha,

Thanks for getting in touch with us. I am sorry to hear this issue is still not resolved.

Technical support can enable parental control for you, however, they would not be able to choose the websites/URL you would like to block, this would have to be done manually from your own device.

I would recommend contacting the technical team to get this set up for you. You can contact them on 1890260260 or freephone 1901 option 2. I do understand you have been speaking with our technical support team before and I do apologise for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,
    Leanne.
