First time signing on, but no employer won't give P45

My story is I'm on a fixed contract since June but being let go today. My employer is giving me a seasonal permanent contract to come back in February. The contract states I'm being laid off (due to winter being lss busy) , but still get certain benefits (non financial) from said company that will continue now until the end of my new contract.

So I don't think I'll be getting a P45 and after hurting my shoulder during work (couldn't tell my employer as they wouldn't have given me a new contract) I don't want to work for a week or two to let my shoulder heal.

Am I able to get any state benefits?

    1. If your employer isn't employing you then s/he should give you a P45.

    2. If you're available for work and actively seeking work, and if you have enough PRSI contributions then you're eligible to claim Jobseekers Benefit, but you'll need a P45 (or a letter from your employer outlining the situation).

    3. If you are unemployed and actively seeking work but don't have enough PRSI contributions, then you can apply for Jobseekers Allowance which is a means tested payment.

    4. If you're unemployed and unfit for work then you should visit your GP and ask him/her to complete an Illness Benefit form for you.
