The mosaic tile around the drain has started turning white and faded. Is it possible to chisel out the effected tiles and replace them with spares?

you just need to reapply stone or marble sealer to the effected area

Will that fix the white discolouring of the mosaic?

I'd have thought that the discoloration is from the water not fully draining in that spot. If this is the case the drainage level is wrong and the only way to fix that is to 're do the tiles.
Or ignore the drainage level and treat the stained spot with white vinegar over night as I'm guessing that its limescale build up

I think the stain is either adhesive or grout. We had some remedial work done on the tiles on the wall and noticed the white staining afterwards. Will try the white vinegar tonight.

They look like Travertine's so are on a mesh background about 12" X 12". The drain cover is not sitting on the tile so easy enough to cut and ease damaged ones out and replace but a lot more hassle than dealing with the staining as suggested above.

LTP grout/cement remover and a scrubbing brush. Re-apply sealer once done.
