Fibre Cabinet Blocked Off By Locked Gate

In Rivercourt in Carlow the local Fibre cabinet (Carlow-CRW1_077-Beech Rd) is placed beside the back garden wall of house number 1 but recently the area that it is in which was part of the building site has been blocked off by a locked gate and fencing to prevent travellers from leaving their mangy half dead horses in there. I have no idea who is responsible for the locked gate and fencing.

Now neither EIR nor KN can access the cabinet and have basically stated there is nothing that can be done as they are not insured to climb walls or gates and can't legally cut the lock off.

Is there anything that can be done at all?

What would they do if the copper was stripped from the cabinet by thieves? Would they just ignore it and leave 100 people with no phones or broadband?

    Any ideas appreciated.

Is that fencing +gate around public or private land?

Not 100% on that, the estate is being taken over by the council and the gate and fence are across a roadway that was supposed to lead to a few more houses but they never got built.

You could make an installation appointment and the lock might be mysteriously cut late the night before. If you were that way inclined.

No I wouldn't like to do anything illegal like damaging the lock or the gates. I might try to find out who locked the gate but unless they are prepared to leave it open the engineers won't get in.

That would depend on the occupents of number 1 being there when the engineers call. They would still have to climb over the garden wall which afaik they will not do.

Its not the only instance of a setup like that. Somebody has a key for it, most likely the CoCo but local field techs wont chase that up unless they have to. If it were to fail entirely it would come to the attention of two levels above him and then things would get sorted.

Pester the CoCo, find out who has the key and then pass those details onto anyone who's reporting faults.
