Hi all, We've recently been cpo'd and a piece of our land is being bought by the council. No problems, papers are signed by us, price is agreed. Our solicitor will handling the conveyancy etc with the legal dept in the council. We've been told it'll take 6-8 weeks before we get the cheque. Our solicitor didnt tell us this, the financial consultant who was getting us a good price from the council told us that. My question is this. Does conveyancy usually take that length of time? Assuming no title problems are there and no other hitches, could it take less time? There are no title issues so it will be straightforward.
