Hello everyone, I have left my job last week due to me wanting to go back to college next year. I have been working for the past 3 and a half years and I was still on Minimum wage. Should I tell the social welfare that I have left my Job to forward my career and go to college.

Is their any way of not been disqualified for the 9 weeks? I just have very little money and would need it now.

Try thinking things through, that's always a good idea. I'm sure that the local welfare officer (is that their name? could be relieving officer) will give you payments to survive whilst your claim is being processed. Makes no sense to leave a job to go back to college unless the day you leave is the day before college starts.

As to how you have phrased your question, we cannot advise on here as to what to tell Social Welfare. You are expected to be honest in your dealings with the Department. They can (and will) check with the company.
