Anyone got recommendations for products and methods for cleaning and rejuvenating a soft top roof (cloth, not vinyl) . The car has stood unused for a few years. It was dry stored so it's dust and some sawdust on it. I gave it a light hoover and a brush to get most of the crap off. There's no years and just a couple of light stains .

I've a leather seat that I've to repair too but I'll stick up pics when I'm off the mobile. It's cream leather and theres a fair bit of cracking on the outside of the seat Base. The foam has worn away and the bar is not far from tearing through but I reckon with a bit of filler maybe? and some paint and treatment products it should be good to go. I've a replacement section of foam ordered so that should be with me next week.

    Cheers

For the roof, use an All Purpose Cleaner, and a medium stiffness nail brush, and give it a good scrub. A power washer will help here. Scrub, the whole roof, power wash off, and repeat, maybe even a third time. Then Id advice to protect it. Something like CarPro Fabric Coat or Gtechniq I1; but if you are going for those, ensure the top is bone dry and follow directions closely - they are ultra durable, so worth the price of the small amount you get.

On the leather - what car is it, what year!?

Hmmm its around the era when the manufacturing processes for leather changed. Possibly you have genuine leather, as opposed to the modern leathers which are designed to be a more maintenance-free, durable, less likely to split and crack.

If you were to drop a few droplets of water on the seat, if it absorbs it's the genuine, if it sits on the surface, it's the later modern type.

Genuine leather needs to be cleaned and conditioned often to keep it subtle. Modern leather needs to be cleaned...but some condition it also...but the leather can't absorb it and it sits in top of the surface, attracting mote dirt.

I'll check with the water tomorrow when I get a chance to get back at the car. This is the current state of it.(pics were too big to attach from the phone. I'll sort it after)
