    Hi,

I've worked in BI and analytics space for approx 5 years, however currently I would like to move into an actual data scientist role, something I can learn and grow into. I can code in R and Python, using key data management, statistical and predictive packages, I also can code in SAS, TSQL, PLSQL among other languages. Anything I'm new to I generally pick up pretty fast. I have a good grasp at data warehouse design and can quickly get to grips with different systems architectures.

I'm full of ideas, always up for learning new things and looking at problems in different ways, while also getting the job done. If anybody knows of such a role going could you kindly PM me.

    Thanks

Where have you looked for a role so far? Sounds like they'd be some highly in demand skills, to the point it should be relatively straightforward to find work. Any of the US tech firms would have roles needing those skills, any of the banks would be interested, all the consultancy companies would be interested.

Appreciate that, thanks for the tip and know they are, I think what would be ideal for me is somewhere that hype and red tape don't get in the way of me bringing real value to a role. I'm not saying having no control. Its when you encounter managers who hire on hype as opposed to having a view of what real value can be brought in the area. This is more commonplace in larger organizations. Expecting you to do what they think a data scientist does. Offshooting you to a functional team on your lonesome as opposed to being part of an analytical core of an organization.

A flatter and smaller more startuppy company may be ideal, such as the techs one mentioned, they would have a better culture for this I feel.
