    That's the entry level Fire.

The Fire HD has a better screen and processor. (and cameras I think)

depends, there is no slot for microsd card, so storage is limited.

Yep. For the money it should do the job at a very reasonable price. I'd get the cover/screen protector with it though. Tablets are easy to break, especially in the hands of children.

EDIT: I wouldn't be worried about storage. 8GB isn't huge but should be fine. You would only run out if you are storing lots of movies or something on it.

    Just got this.
Works out around 50 euro using PM.
Since I don't have a iPad or other tablet, I reckon 50 quid is pretty good.

Can anybody advise me if this is worth buying?

Probably mainly be used for watchin movies on the go or in bed (would it be big enough), and a bit of facebook and internet surfing

I currently watch movies on my bulky laptop and do the rest on my galaxy s5

    TIA

As some of the others have said storage is very limited at 8gb - the OS and even a few apps can eat that up. If you're only going to be streaming (Netflix/Youtube/Filmon) content then you should be ok, but if you're looking at Showbox for example, and want to download a file to view later you will run into storage issues as a movie/tv episode can easily be 1GB of more.

Lenovo have a fairly basic 7inch tab with expandable storage for <€70 in Argos - have had a couple for the family and they are working out fine.

I wouldnt touch an 8gb tablet for kids, who want loads of games installed. I have 2 of the basic Fires and they are costantly running out of space. And that is even with have a 32gb sd card in each, as only certain amount of the app will transfer over to the sd card.

The Fire software takes up 4gb and even stuff I dont want like the Kindle app is 160mb and I cant delete it!

+1 I've probably spent 5 hours this year freeing up storage in kids 8gb phones and tablets its just not enough complete pain in the ass.

From googling you can add a USB stick to these with an otg cable. Might help a bit

I've the 16gb one for the kids. And it's perfect for them. I got the big foam bumpers for them off Amazon and cheap protectors. Being able to lock them down is a god send you don't have to keep looking over their shoulder to see what they are watching. Peace of mind is worth it alone, lol.

Great little tablet for the money. Highly recommend getting one.

Edited to say it's not the most powerful tablet in the world but for what they want it for YouTube etc. It's perfect.
