Mice in the Garage

Should I set traps and catch them or just let them be??

They're only in the garage, not the house (the garage is not attached to the house)... and they aren't rats so they're not really doing any harm right?

Should I kill the mice running around the garage? 18 votes

Car engine on. Doors shut. That will sort it.

They'll be into the house as soon as the weather gets a bit colder so you really should discourage them now...

    Keep them as pets.

Put traps down along a wall. You'll have them all caught in no time.

Just to play devil's advocate mice like rats multiply,
spread disease and cause structural damage.
The garden shed is your sudetenland. To save your house,
and indeed your neighborhood and town you have to
    make a stand.

Move your children into the garage and make them catch and cook the mice for food

Now is the time to teach them valueable life skills

Ultrasonic pest repeller. They don't work straight away but they're not a bad idea.

I've had them in the garage and never the house. If there's nothing they can damage by gnawing then they'll do no harm. If you put the car in the garage then you'll have to get rid of the mice.

Had them in the garage 3 years ago, dropping everywhere, got at box of lawn seed and tried to get at bird seed. One good weekend of traps sorted them out.

If you put your car in the garage they may eat the cabling of the engine and cause hundreds/thousands in damage.

This would only teach them that vermin can make it in this
world. Then they would get aspirations and hope.

I get them in my stables. I leave a peck of horse meal out for them. Not bothering me, down there.

What sort ye got, OP? Any apple trees ye can access?

You have to get rid of them. They can cause untold damage over time.

Strange Poll. Ask a question then don't give option to answer it.

    Yes, Kill them.

Usually get a few with the first cold spell, freaks herself out. Bit of bacon in the mouse traps works great, they love it, never had it take longer than 2 hours to clear them out.

My cat brings me in dead mice all the time. Maybe the mice will attract a cool cat.

    Does the mice no harm.

    Well, thanks for that ..........

Pest control isn't a solid enough reason to get a cat. You can't just fire a cat outside and just hope it does the job. Cats need taking care of. Well, ok, you can just fire them outside and hope for the best, but you shouldn't. Get a cat if you want to own a cat. The pest control is a bonus.

If you get a cat, you' vet got to look after it but a good mouser is worth its weight in gold.

Get some traps. The mice will try to get into your house if and when it gets a bit colder. Sort them out now.

BTW ultrasonic devices are largely useless.
