Been trying to sell the other half's Chevrolet Spark without much success.

    Link to ad: https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/chevrolet-spark-lt-1-2l/13419176

Hard to get a value as it's not in the garages little book.

Toyota dealer offered 5k on trade in on a Yaris.

    Any thoughts or advice welcome.

Ad looks well, not sure on pricing, there's not much to compare it to, other example is €5500 in Wexford but with more miles. You should bump the ad every week, it's now well down the list being there 38 days. It's a rare car on these roads so people may avoid for this reason, if I go to Chevrolet.ie there is no Irish contact details, this might scare off potential purchasers thinking there's no distributor behind them.

Really depends how quickly you want it shifted. I'd probably try and push the dealer to give you a little more for it. They were not popular cars so you could be waiting a good while for someone to show interest.

Would have taken the hand off the dealer with that offer tbh.

It's a relatively unknown model of an unpopular brand (who have ceased trading in Ireland?), so I think it's going to be a hard sell unfortunately.

As Atlantic Dawn said, bumping the ad will help with visibility at least.

Really would like to shift it privately if possible.

Before I put it up, there was one exactly the same for sale in Co. Kerry asking 6600 Euro but the ad wasn't there very long.

I am very open to a reasonable offer, wonder should I specify this in the ad but if I was interested in a private sale car, I would always assume that an offer was understood.

The content of the ad looks good, photos look good and its a clean looking low mileage little motor..

My take is, its a bit off the standard usual small cars and so you'll be waiting for someone with no brand loyalty or someone who is intentionally looking for something different to come along to buy it.. People in this segment would sell a kidney for a Yaris or Micra, I see your going for a Yaris yourself too..

Hate to say it but the dealer wasn't doing too bad as he'll face the exact same challenge when he has it sitting on the forecourt..

You can source one of that age in the UK vrt paid for less than €4k.

    Certainly you can.

However, if you filter for year spec level, engine size and mileage on Autotrader you end up with only 2 examples one at 3795 and the other at 3950 sterling.

As you are discovering, prospective purchasers don't value extras too highly on a low end car.
