    Hey,

Looking to purchase some multi trip travel insurance and was wondering whether it only covers foreign trips, or can it also cover domestic trips?

Depends on the policy, I have cover via my credit card and the (AIG) travel policy defines an 'insured journey' as a trip not exceeding 90 days from my normal residence to anywhere outside the Republic of Ireland.

The only cover that I can think of which you'd need for domestic travel would be reimbursement for cancellation/curtailment when you paid for a hotel in advance and there's no refund.

I was thinking along the lines of hotel cancellation, lost items, money etc. Not a big deal was just wondering in general.

You can get general cover for lost items via your house policy though in most cases it's not really worth claiming for small amounts as they'll get their money back in increased premiums over the following few years.
