Fitting a new shower door to a 1200 x 900 tray. It will need a 900 panel and 1200 slider panel. I have been quoted prices from 395-- 840.
Is the dearer thicker glass worth the extra money? The shower gets alot of use so I want something that will last. Any advice welcome

May be relevant, Woodies in Limerick are getting rid of a load of shower doors and panels, various sizes for between €20 and €50 each.
I've seen the RRP on the boxes and it is a massive saving.
    Worth a call.

We got the tray and shower panel (quadrant) from Chadwick's when we did it about six months ago.

Both together were 450, it was part of the songs city collection. It opens in the middle (two doors), very nice.

If the shower is fitted to an end wall (at one of the 900mm ends), then full enclosure would not be needed in a 1,2mtr tray. Have you considered this? Looks far better too IMO. A full glass surround on that tray would look like a greenhouse.

Thanks for replies i will try woodies and chadwicks today.
I dont know dodzy i think without the shower tray your right but with it i think it looks better with the two panels and with little people in the house they get water everywhere even with enclosed shower!
Are there many benifits in going for thicker glass like 8mm compared to say 6mm?

8mm obviously tougher than 6mm. More expensive though. Do have a look at a few showrooms for ideas. The single panel on the 1200mm tray works well. Highly unlikely that splash will be an issue (even with the little 'uns) if shower is indeed on an end wall.
